​At NJ Suppression Solutions, we specialize in inspections, maintenance, and repairs of kitchen suppression systems and portable fire extinguishers, ensuring your establishment meets the necessary safety standards and regulations.
How often should inspections occur?
Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems must be inspected every 6 months by a licensed contractor. This requirement comes from NFPA 17A (Standard for Wet Chemical Extinguishing Systems) and NFPA 96 (Standard for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations), which are adopted under the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code (N.J.A.C. 5:70).

Portable Fire Extinguishers must receive a full inspection once a year by a certified technician. This requirement is set by NFPA 10 (Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers), which is also enforced under the NJ Uniform Fire Code.
